As we know that the Indian Maritime University take an common entrance test named as IMu CET 2017 for the admission into various UG and PG courses. If you want to take admission into IMU and their affiliated institutes then first you have to fulfill their minimum eligibility criteria i.e IMU CET Eligibility 2017. There will be some medical, educational and age criteria for IMU CET 2017. Here we show course wise educational and medical eligibility of IMU CET 2017 exam.

IMU CET Under Graduate Programmes Eligibility 2017

1-year Diploma in Nautical Science (DNS) Programme leading to B.Sc (Applied Nautical Science)

i) For 1 year Diploma in Nautical Science course candidate must have 10+2 exam or equivalent form recognized board (PCM - a minimum of 60% aggregate) OR
ii) B.Sc (PCM)/ B.Sc (Electronics with Physics as individual subject in one of the years) with a minimum of 60% aggregate OR
iii) B.E./B.Tech from IIT or college recognized by AICTE with a minimum of 50% aggregate
Note: English Marks are to be 50% or more in any one of the above examination. In case of SC/ST candidates there will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks; however, it will not apply to English Marks.

3-Year B.Sc (Nautical Science)

If you want to take admission into 3 year BSC nautical Science courses then candidates should have 10+2 exam certificate or equivalent examination from recognized board (PCM - a minimum of 60% aggregate & English - a minimum of 50%)
Note: In case of SC/ST candidates there will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks; however, it will not apply to English Marks.

3-Year B.Sc (Maritime Science)

If you want to take admission into 3-Year B.Sc in Maritime Science then you should have 10+2/equivalent (PCM - a minimum of 60% aggregate & English - a minimum of 50%) Note: In case of SC/ST candidates there will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks; however, it will not apply to English Marks.

4-Year B.Tech (Marine Engineering)

If you want to take admission into 4-Year B.Tech in Marine Engineering then candidates must have 10+2/equivalent (PCM - a minimum of 60% aggregate & English - a minimum of 50%).
Note: In case of SC/ST candidates there will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks; however, it will not apply to English Marks.
For 1-year Diploma in Nautical Science (DNS) Programme leading to B.Sc (Applied Nautical Science); 3-Year B.Sc (Nautical Science); 3-Year B.Sc (Maritime Science) and 4-Year B.Tech (Marine Engineering) course has following Age and medical fitness criteria.
--> IMU CET Age criteriaAge as on the date of admission on 1st August 2017 shall be as follows: i) Minimum age 17 years ii) Maximum age 25 Years Note: For Scheduled Caste (SC) & Schedule Tribe (ST) Candidates, maximum age relaxation is for five (5) years.

IMU CET Medical Criteria
Physical Fitness 1. Candidates seeking admission to the following 4 Marine Programmes: (i) DNS leading to B.Sc (Applied Nautical Science) (ii) B.Sc (Nautical Science), (iii) B.Sc (Maritime Science) and (iv) B.Tech (Marine Engineering, must be physically fit and should meet the medical requirements as specified by Director General of Shipping, Mumbai. 2. At the time of admission, candidates will be required to produce certificate of medical fitness issued by doctors approved by the Directorate General of Shipping, Mumbai. Eye sight
1. For the above 4 Marine Programmes, there shall be no evidence of any morbid condition of either eye or of the lids of either eye which may be liable to risk of aggravation or recurrence. Candidates must possess good binocular vision (Fusion faculty and full field of vision in both eyes).
2. Movement of the eyeballs must be full in all directions and the pupils should react normally to light and accommodation.
3. Normal color vision shall be tested by Ishihara test chart.
4.a) For DNS leading to B.Sc (Applied Nautical Science), B.Sc(Nautical Science) and B.Sc(Maritime Science) Programmes: Distance Vision unaided 1.0*(6/6)in better eye and 0.67*(6/9) in other eye.
4.b) For B.Tech( Marine Engineering) Programme: Distance Vision unaided 0.5 *(6/12) in each eye or 0.67*(6/9) in better eye and 0.33*(6/18) in other eye.

3-Year B.Sc (Ship Building and Repair)

If you want to take admission into 3-Year B.Sc in Ship Building and Repair course then you should have 10+2/equivalent (PCM - a minimum of 50% aggregate & English - a minimum of 50%) Note: In case of SC/ST candidates there will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks; however, it will not apply to English Marks.

4-Year B.Tech (Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering)

If you want to take admission into 4-Year B.Tech (Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering) course then you should have 10+2/equivalent (PCM - a minimum of 60% aggregate & English - a minimum of 50%) Note: In case of SC/ST candidates there will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks; however, it will not apply to English Marks.

IMU CET Post Graduate Programmes Eligibility 2017

Similarly Indian maritime University also take an IMU CET for those candidates who want to take admission into various post graduate programmes such as 2 year MBA or MTech and has some IMU CET PG eligibility criteria are as follows

2-Year MBA - International Transportation and Logistics Management
2-Year MBA – Port & Shipping Management

If you want to take admission into 2-Year MBA - International Transportation and Logistics Management and 2-Year MBA – Port & Shipping Management PG programmes then you should have

A bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% aggregate from Recognized Universities. A minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th/12th/UG Degree. Note: In case of SC/ST candidates there will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks; however, it will not apply to English Marks.

2-Year M.Tech - Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering
2-Year M.Tech - Dredging and Harbour Engineering

If you want to take admission into 2-Year M.Tech - Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering and 2-Year M.Tech - Dredging and Harbour Engineering PG courses then candidates must have Graduate Engineering in Mechanical / Civil / Aeronautical / Marine / Naval Architecture or equivalent with a minimum of 60% aggregate. Note: In case of SC/ST candidates there will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks.

All Candidates who qualify for PG degree courses will have to submit a Physical Fitness Certificate from a Registered Medical Practitioner.
