In this post we are gong to share some most important Engineering Graphics questions for RGPV exam.

Engg Graphics Unit I

·        A distance of 140km between two stations on a railway map is represented by a length of 70 mm. find the R.F. of the scale of the map and construct a diagonal scale to read distances on the map, correctly to a kilometer and long enough to measure 300km. Also mark on this scale length corresponding to 176 km and 204 km.
·        A fountain jet discharges water from ground level at an inclination of 500 to the ground. The jet travels horizontal distance of 8 m from the point of discharge and falls on the ground. Trace the path of the jet. Name the curve. download old papers syllabus

·        A 3.2 cm long line represents a length of 4 m . extend this line to measure lengths upto 25m and show on it units of meter and 5 meters. Show the length of 17m on the scale.
·        A circle of 50mm diameter, rolls on the outside of a directing circle of same radius without slipping. Draw the curve traced by a point on the rolling circle for 1 revolution of rolling circle.

Engg Graphics Unit II

·        Q.2A line PQ, 100mm long is inclined at 300 to the HP and at 450 to the VP. Its midpoint is in the V.P. and 20 mm above H.P. Draw its projections if its end P is in the third quadrant and Q in the first quadrant.
·        An object is placed 2.4 m above the ground and in the centre of the hall of 8.4m * 7.2m * 7.2m. Determine its distance from one of the corners between the roof and the two adjacent wall by graphical method.
·        A line AB , inclined at 40o to the V.P, has its ends 50 mm and 20 mm above the H.P. the length of its front view is 65mm and its V.T is 10 mm above H.P. Determine the true length of AB , its inclination with H.P.and find its traces. download old papers syllabus

·        A line AB  is inclined at 400 to H.P. its one end A is 25 mm above H.P. and 30mm in front of V.P.. The top view of the line is 70mm and is inclined at 300 to xy. Draw the projections of the line and determine its true length and inclination with V.P.

 Engg Graphics Unit III

·        . A hexagonal plane figure of side 30mm is resting on a corner in the V.P. with its surface making an angle of 300 with the V.P. The view from the front of the diagonal passing through that corner is inclined at 350 to the H.P. Draw three principal views.
·        A rectangular plate ABCD, measuring 45mm * 35mm has its diagonal AC inclined at 300 to the H.P., whereas the diagonal BD makes an angle of 450 to V.P. Draw its projections.
·        A regular pentagonal plate , of 50mm sides , has one of its corner on H.P.the plane of the pentagon is inclined at 300 to the H.P.The side of the pentagon which is opposite to the corner which is on H.P , is inclined at 450 to the V.P. Draw the projections of the plate.
·        A rectangular plate ABCD, measuring 45mm * 35mm has its diagonal AC inclined at 300 to the H.P., whereas the diagonal BD makes an angle of 450 to V.P. Draw its projections.

Unit IV

A right circular cone, diameter of base 50mm and height 62mm, lies on H.P. on one of its elements with axis parallel to V.P. Draw projections of cone.
·        Draw the projection of a cylinder 50 mm. diameter and axis 90mm long, lying on ground with its axis inclined at 450 to the H.P. and parallel to the V.P.
·        A hexagonal pyramid of base 30mm and axis 60mm has an edge of its base on the ground. Its axis is inclined at 300 to the ground and parallels to the V.P. Draw its projections.
·        A square prism of base edge 35mm and axis 60mm is resting on an edge of its base on the H.P. and the axis inclined at 450 to the H.P. If the edge resting on the H.P is inclined at 300  to the V.P . Draw its projection.
